Winchester Wedding
We were so excited that Luke and Claire asked us to be their Winchester Guildhall wedding photographers! We are Leeds wedding photographers so had never photographed there before, we didn’t know how astonishing it was! Winchester Guildhall is a magnificent building and a perfect wedding venue, truly epic inside! Last week we uploaded a five image sneak peek gallery for Luke and Claire of their first edited wedding photographs. We have been working away editing all of their Winchester Guildhall wedding photographs for them, and we have already heard back from Luke and Claire that they love them all!
THE PREPARATIONS
Our day started with both bridal party preparations and groom and groomsmen preparations. We love photographing this part of the day and discovering all the little details that make up each couple’s day. Claire had hair and makeup in hand while her three children and bridesmaids prepared. As we are a team of two wedding photographers, Jon was with Luke photographing his groom preparations while Luke also looked after his little nephews.
THE CEREMONY
The service in the Winchester Guildhall was magical, in such a magnificent space! We headed outside and shot the group shots quickly so that no one was hanging around waiting (and getting frustrated by the photographers!) It was a beautiful day, and in such an awesome space the group shots instantly looked fantastic.
THE VENUE
The reception also took place in the Winchester Guildhall, below in the Courtyard. The Courtyard was a pretty, white space with original Victorian brick archways and a secluded courtyard outside. Claire had thought of absolutely everything; There were so many little touches and thoughtfully added details throughout the venue.
Wedding Photographer
Lukes speech thanked all involved, family, bridesmaids, groomsmen and some close friends who had served with him in Afganistan who had managed to make it for their special day. Claire’s brother spoke beautiful words during his emotional and touching speech to the couple, just before their cake cutting.
THE PORTRAITS
We finished the day with a walk and some portrait shots of the newly-weds. Just behind the Winchester Guildhall, we had spotted some beautiful gardens to capture these intimate moments. It gave us a little peace and quiet, a little harmony after a hectic day. Luke and Claire’s wedding was so enjoyable; we loved every second of it. Hopefully, it won’t be long until we are shooting another wedding in Hampshire! Claire and Luke are the most incredible couple, and we are over the moon with their glowing reviews of our photographs.
