Yorkshire Wedding Photographer
The best moments in life are those imagined and created for your love’s happiness. That is why Rob decided to contact us for the most important moment of his life. Asking his longtime girlfriend Rebekah to marry him. This is the story of a beautiful, young couple following its path towards lifetime love. This is also the story of our well planned North Yorkshire Engagement Shoot which we loved doing!
As wedding photographers, we often find ourselves blessed. We have the great opportunity of witnessing love and extraordinary life decisions. The unique emotions and moments, all the wonderful pieces of a couple’s “life puzzle”. Once more, with Rob deciding to propose to Rebekah, we had the chance to be documentarians of a unique moment. Of course, we immediately accepted the challenge of this adventure shoot. Rebekah knew nothing of the real reason for their weekend away to Bedale, Yorkshire. Rob took advantage of the fact that she had recently got a new job. He invited Rebekah to celebrate her professional success in a romantic escape. Whisking her away to the incredible Dalesend Cottages at Patrick Brompton Hall.
Adventure Shoot
Rob and Rebekah have been together for eight years. Their love story began while they were students continuing as they graduated University. Their love continued as they started building careers and planning a life together. Rob has always said that he would ask Rebekah to marry him before he would earn his doctorate. Time passed by and it was only a few weeks before he completed his PhD. Rob decided it was the perfect moment to take a leap of faith and “ask the big question”.
Rob planned everything in detail to make their weekend memorable and unique. He had even designed the ring himself, with the help of Philippa, a close friend of the couple. The reservation for the weekend was at Dalesend Cottages. Their extraordinary scenery couldn’t have been more appropriate for the proposal. Their cottage was so beautiful and romantic. Including a private hot tub and candles, everything was warm and welcoming. For our job, this flamboyant place was the perfect visual choice.
Surprise Engagement
The owner of the cottages was an accomplice to the plan. He helped Rob organise horse riding for Rebekah and gave them his private garden for the big moment. Rebekah, of course, knew nothing about what was going to happen. She loved the morning horse riding. In the evening she thought they would have a nice walk in the garden then return to their cottage for the night. But, in the private garden, she turned a corner and had a surprise. In front of her were three canvas with photographs of her and Rob from their eight years of relationship. Rob bent his knees, looked straight into his love’s eyes and asked Rebekah to marry him. With only Mother Nature (and ourselves) as a witness, Rebekah said yes. What a moment! They celebrated their happiness after with a glass of champagne.
She Said Yes
Stories of I Do Leeds wedding photography witnessed everything. After Rob’s proposal we “exploited” most of the fairytale scenes the place had to offer. The lake nearby, the private garden, the bridge, and the beautiful estate. We created some stunning photographs as well as capturing their engagement footage. It was the kind of work day that makes you feel privileged about what you do. Now, we’re looking forward to witnessing their wedding. It’s going to be as amazing as their love story is.
